Messenger Style Bags

The majority of the bags are together. I only ran into one semi-huge problem. I cut some of the material for the lining at the wrong size. Oops. Now I need to go get more. Luckily these bags are rather large so even though it is no longer large enough to line these bags, it will be large enough for others.

As Promised - Fabric Pictures

I'm really happy with the way the fabric turned out after tea-dying it a second time. I'm not sure if I'll do more pink or khaki on the rest of the bag but here's a sampling of the fabrics.

Here's the second bag that I am also working on. I am so happy with the color selections. The sketch doesn't do the idea justice. It's hard to really show the chevron design that will be on the flap. When finished, it will look similar to the ribbon-tied clutch/makeup bag.

I'm so excited to really get going on these bags. I think they will be adorable!

Moving right along

I forgot to take a picture this morning of the patchwork fabric that I am using on my next bag. I guess that's ok though because I need to dye it one more time. Tea die, that is. It gives it a more vintage feel. I also picked out the blue fabrics for the other bag that I am making. Hopefully I will get the flap for that bag done tonight. I will do my best to post some pictures of these as I progress...as long as I don't have another senior moment tomorrow. (I'm forgetting already and I'm not even 30.)

I was busy last night...

...and made this bag. I made it for my sister. As a designer, sometimes you have to pull out your design card and do things the way that you see them needing to be done...within reason. Well, I did just that with this bag. My sister, Jen, asked me for a bag. She liked mine (a city cruiser) and wanted one of her own. Originally she said reds/black. Then she decided denim and blues so it would dress down enough for jeans. After thinking about it I told her no to the denim but that I would use lots of shades of blue instead. I looked at the fabrics I had and I kept getting drawn back to red. As the designer (and since it's my sister so I know what she wants better than she does) I went back to the idea of red and black. I also switched up the shape a bit. I think it looks a little dressier than the cruiser but it's still not fussy. It can be dressed up for business casual or down with jeans. A perfect compromise if you ask me...she just doesn't know yet.

Just can't get enough? Check out more pictures of this bag and more.

New Clutch

Ok, I actually made it as a make-up bag for Heather but it's so darn cute that the next one will officially be a clutch. The pictures are in the link for Downtown Divas. Here's one picture though so you can start to drool while you're computer loads Kodak Gallery

Shameless

I can't believe this bag hasn't sold yet. Look at how adoreable this City Cruiser bag is. Come on people.

This bag needs a home!

Made of pink denim with cotton detail. Button closure. Inside is a patch pocket with 2 compartments. Lined with cotton muslin. I've been known to cart a bottle of water, small umbrella, camera, as well as all my other daily neccessities in my City Cruiser bag.
